The only additional cost that you will have to pay is for shipping. Shipping from Japan is usually done with either EMS or DHL. DHL is recommended over EMS, especially for more costly purchased, because, DHL is known to be more secure and reliable than EMS. My DHL shipments from Japan usually arrive here in Canada in no less than 3 days, which is much faster than it would take to receive some packages from the U.S.

Also, another thing to note is that, you are going to have to pay taxes on the product once it enters Canada at Canada Customs. You will pay tax based on the price that the Japanese importer valued the item at. So if you paid $10 000 for a plasma television, and the importer valued it at $5000 when they shipped it, you will basically be paying half of the taxes.
